Dothan Farmers MarketTuesday, July 23, 2013
Last weekend we made it a point to visit the local Farmers Market here in Dothan, Alabama. This was my third time being at a farmers market. My first experience at a farmers market was with a friend 3 or 4 years ago in Indiana. We didn't have any intention of buying anything - we only visited to practice taking pictures with our cameras. My second experience at a farmer's market was shortly after moving to Alabama. A new friend invited me to join her on a trip to the farmers market right outside of Fort Rucker. I went along without a clue as to what I wanted...and just bought whatever looked good
This time around I knew I wanted peaches if there were any. On our way to the peach stand though we were stopped by a friendly older couple that was selling honey. They knew everything about honey and had plenty of sizes and types to choose from. The second they told me that they were selling cinnamon honey, I knew we had to buy some.
The Farmers Market took place in the parking lot of the civic center in downtown Dothan. Downtown Dothan is known for its many murals.
And of course, I got my peaches. After buying them Mr. Pribs and I had a pretttty serious conversation about the difference between the peach, the nectarine and the plum (?). So glad we were able to clear up his confusion.
