Cestone's Pizzeria: Mt. WashingtonWednesday, July 22, 2015
You can't get very far in Pittsburgh before passing by 4 or 5 different pizza joints though. Why do Pittsburghers love pizza so much???
So we recently tried a new pizza in a nearby town. I've learned that when trying to find a place to eat in a strange place, Google Maps isn't going to suffice. (I try searching "Food" and it gives me some place 5 miles away?) You literally just have to drive around and stop at the first restaurant that looks appealing. That's how we found Cestone's Pizzeria.
We were happy with our decision. We didn't have the time to wait around for them to make a new pizza, but luckily they had pepperoni pizza sitting on the front counter that you could just buy by the slice, so we opted to go with that.
There was outdoor seating, which we love, especially when we have Baby Pribs with us. More to see and less people to bother with baby squawks.
I'm going to try to be more open to local small establishments when it comes to finding new places to eat. It's just so hard sometimes when you grew up eating all of the popular names. From what I've heard though, there are several hidden gems within Pittsburgh. We just have to find them.
