Guys, I’m not even halfway through boot camp and my body already hates me.
I woke up feeling like death on Monday and dragged myself to bootcamp.
I’m pretty sure our teacher knew I wasn’t feeling well and purposefully picked on me because of that. Apparently I’ve been doing pushups wrong my WHOLE entire life. Or at least that’s the impression I got when I was on pushup number 5 and all of a sudden I hear “Joy, what are you doing?”. “…Uhhh, pushups, what else?”
And upper body strength? Don’t have it. I already knew this though. And somehow I ended up with the heaviest sandbag there on Monday. We had to lift the sandbag ABOVE our heads WHO KNOWS how many times. It stunk. SO bad. I started mumbling things to myself….this happens when I’m ticked off at ol’ me, myself and I. At one point I said to myself “What is your PROBLEM, you have no upper body strength”…and our teacher, who has the EARS OF A BAT, heard me and said “That’s why you’re here”. Bahhh. At one point, the girl next to me offered to switch sandbags….because she felt bad for me. That’s how lame I was.
At the end of each session our instructor always reminds us to “eat clean”…”drink plenty of water”…blahblah. I just sort of tune her out at this point though. And then I drive home to stuff my face with these. And suddenly all is well again.
Browned Butter Rice Krispies Recipe

- In a medium sized pot, brown your butter over medum-high heat.
- Over low heat add the marshmallows to the browned butter and stir until they've all melted.
- Transfer your mixture to a large mixing bowl and stir in the rise krispies.
- Once combined, transfer to a greased 8x8 pan and press down with a spatula. Allow to set and ENJOY!
Tomorrow’s a new day. Hopefully I’ll wake up with a new body because we’re running. And we all know how much I LOVE to run. NOT.
