I know, I know, I said last Christmas that I was going to tackle cinnamon rolls made with yeast, but I decided to do something else instead, because quite frankly, I didn’t feel like cinnamon rolls was exciting enough.  That’s when I stumbled upon “pull-apart bread”.  What’s more fun than pull-apart bread?  Nothing?  Exactly.

I’d never had pull-apart bread before I made this.  So, for all I know, it didn’t turn out.  But I’m pretty sure it did.  It tasted really good too.  That’s why there weren’t very many pictures of it afterwards – I ate it all.  I mean, WE ate it all.

I can definitely see this becoming a family holiday tradition – pull-apart bread on Christmas morning.  Or Easter morning.  Whatever.  I mean, why does Christmas get all of the yummy delicious treats?  Why can’t we spread them out and give every holiday a delicious treat to look forward to?

That’s it.  I’m doing it.  Cinnamon pull-apart bread will be an Easter treat.

Now I have to wait almost another year until I can have this bread again.  Great.

Not really.  Its apples were disgusting.

The neighbor’s apples would always fall over the fence and into our yard, so finally one day I took a bite out of one.  It was so bitter and distasteful.  I chucked that thing to the other side of the neighbor’s yard and vowed never to eat one again.

The apples never stopped falling on our side of the yard though.  And it really ticked me off because our yard was getting littered with bitter apples that no one was going to eat.

I wish I knew about this recipe when I was a kid, because maybe this recipe would have made those apples worth eating.

This recipe is too good to keep a secret.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I was the only one home on the day I made this.  And we happen to have only one apple left in our kitchen.  So I did what any sensible hungry girl would do with a few extra minutes on her hands.  I made something sweet.

And then, as soon as it came out of the oven, I dumped a bunch of ice cream and caramel syrup on top to make it even sweeter.

My hasty decisions were good ones.  The combination tasted great together.

And I’ve decided that when I have kids someday, it will be an annual (or maybe monthly…daily?) tradition to have baked apples together as a family.

This was one of those easy and quick meals that made my evenings less busy and put a meal on the table before Mr. Pribs even knew I was home!  If I ever have a job outside of the home, I’ll probably be using this recipe a lot more.  I don’t know how some people do it.  I really don’t.  How do two people work full time (both outside the home), spend time together, have proper meals, keep the house in one piece and not spend a lot of money?  I don’t know.  I really don’t know.
