Strawberry Drink: two ways
By Joy
Today marks the last day of bootcamp for me.
No more carrying 25 pound bags above my head around a horse barn.
No more carrying water filled pipes while my fingers fall off due to frost bite.
The last day of burning abs and spazzing back muscles.
The last day of torture.
Also, my last day of eating whatever the heck I want knowing that the next day I’ll be burning triple the calories I had consumed.
It’s a bittersweet day.
Was it worth it, you ask? Depends on how you look at it.
Was it worth it two Mondays ago to roll out of bed at 5:30am and go running in 41 degree weather?
Not really. I would’ve rather stay curled up in my warm bed and sleep for another 30 minutes.
Was it worth it to run a 5k on a hilly course in under 30 minutes?
Totally.
Was it worth it to climb up and over a wall all by myself..the same one that I couldn’t climb 5 weeks earlier?
Yep.
Was it worth it to stuff my face with whatever I want without a care in the world?
YOU KNOW IT.
But I have to say, I’m happy bootcamp is over. More sleep, less running out of breath, less yelling, more working out when the sun is out and the temperature is above freezing.
You won’t see me running the 10k Turkey trot in a couple of weekends…I’m not THAT in shape. But you may see me huffing and puffing my way through a 5k.
Who knows, maybe I’ll keep working out so that I can keep eating copious amounts of all these things I make.
Whatever it takes to motivate you, right?
